Pregnancy and Illness are Two Separate Things, Court Ruled Today

An update on the State Insurance Agancy case where four women were denied compensation for being ill during their pregnacies on the grounds that illness during pregnancy was normal, as if it was their own fault. The court ruled yesterday they won’t disagree with the previous ruling that this was discrimination against pregnant women. I already wrote a post when it was up in court the first time that this was the most logical. It can be compared to a skater who breaks an arm, a smoker who gets cancer, a carpenter who nails a finger and an overweight person who gets heart problems. It was self-inflicted, but not intentional because these activities don’t have to lead to problems, and even if it is self-inflicted they’re still no less sick or injured.
