Question #2

If I had been born with eyes like a spiders, would I then have been able to look at the night sky and determine where Venus and Earth were in relation to themselves and the sun?

Depends if you would have the brain of a human(what´s it like to be a bat), and which kind of spider-eyes you would have? =) The spiders lens is much better than a ordinary digital camera, but the since the receptors aren´t evolutionized to determine where Venus and Earth were in relation to themselves and the sun, it would become to grainy for you to comprenhend what you see.

There was a guy who inserted electrodes in his arm nerves attached to some sonar or radar or whatever bats used. Also, some people who wore lenses/glasses for a month and eventually their neurons would reconnect to turn upside-down the picture the glasses were showing.

That’s not relevant though. I meant it more like can we imagine the world in 3D better and better resolution would be a requisite. The spiders may have grainy vision, but they can see 360 degrees. I thought up the question as I was gazing at the night sky, identifying Venus and Mars, but little else, and I don’t know how far away each dot in the sky is, so it’s difficult to visualize the solar system and its closest proximity.
